My Herts School PlaceThe process of having a child’s special educational needs assessed and met can be complex and need persistence. Persuading a local authority to issue a statement of special educational needs can be especially daunting. Parents often need support and advice in helping them through this process. In addition, the provision of a statement can also lead to conflict with a local authority over the identification of needs, provision and school placement for a child. We can:
- Undertake an independent assessment of a child’s special educational needs by an Educational Psychologist (see David Jones in the About Us section)
- Advise on the multi professional assessment process that leads to a statement of special educational needs being issued
- Help you to understand the SEN legislation
- Prepare and support a case to the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) Tribunal
Please be sure to exhaust all available support from your child’s school, The County Council’s Special Needs Team and Parent Partnership.
